HAIEA Full and Reduced Cost Summer Camp 2023 Scholarship Policy

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to provide guidelines for the application and distribution of

HAIEA funded scholarships for Cathy’s Critters Summer Camp.

Who is eligible for financial assistance?

Residents of the Cities of Princeton, Lowry Crossing, Farmersville and New Hope may

apply for financial assistance. A limited number of full scholarships (6) and 50%

scholarships (6) Will be awarded on a case by case basis. Individuals who receive any

type of government assistance are automatically eligible for a scholarship. (ie: Chip,

WIC, medicaid) Those that do not receive any type of assistance will be qualified if they

fall below the HUD income limits of “Very Low” using proof of income (check stub or

previous year’s tax return).

What type of information is required for the application?

• Complete a scholarship application

• Provide proof of residency (copy of water, utility, or mortgage statement).

• Proof of participation in another qualified financial assistance program (chip, wic

or Section 8 housing) or household income (a recent pay stub from your employer or a

copy of last year’s tax return).

Is there a maximum scholarship amount that can be given?

The financial award from HAIEA will be for 1 week of summer camp for one child in a

family. Scholarships are non-transferable and may only be used for designated

recipients. Cash refunds or account credits will not be given.

Who will be reviewing my application?

Documentation will be collected and reviewed by the HAIEA Board of Directors, HAIEA

is a 501c3 organization that works in partnership with Cathy’s Critters. Eligibility will be

determined based on the information provided to HAIEA.

Once approved, how do I register for camp?

If approval is granted, the Scholarship Coordinator will contact you with a code to

complete registration. Registration is not complete until confirmation has been received

from the Scholarship Coordinator.
