We are so humbled and encouraged by all the help you’ve given as we’ve transitioned from a “we bring the farm to you” model to a “come on out and visit” destination, and all in the midst of a pandemic! We would encourage you to continue to support the farm in any way you can through volunteerism, one-time donations, vehicle donations, or making a monthly commitment to help take care of the animals that live here. The following monthly donations are available and will earn you special members-only discounts and on-farm events.

Donate to care for the exotic mammals $100/month

Cathy’s Critters is the home to (Sir) Quilliam the North American Porcupine, kangaroos, native wildlife like skunks, opossums, and bobcats, patagonian cavies, and many more animals that you can see up close and in some cases feed and touch. This is an incredible and unique opportunity for you, your family, and our community that is difficult and expensive to maintain. Your help through a monthly donation ensures that we can keep building enriching habitats, providing quality care, and exhibiting these amazing animals.

Donate to reptile care $50/month

Creepy and crawly? Scaly and slimy? No matter your opinion of reptiles, you have to admit that they are a varied and fascinating bunch. At Cathy’s Critters we have giant tortoises, snakes, lizards, and other unsettling creatures from around the world. Please donate to help keep them fed, housed, and cared for so that our community can continue to learn about them.

Donate in honor of the exotic birds $20/month

The ostriches, emus, parrots, macaws, cockatiels, and other exotic birds hailing from South America, Asica, Africa, and Australia add color and a “joyous noise” to the farm. They are beautiful, comical, and fun to watch. These magificent birds live longer than most of us will so and some of these friends were given a new home at Cathy’s Critters because their previous owners were aware that they needed to be passed down as they got too old to take care of them.

Please donate to help with their varied diet, vet care, wing and claw trimming, and building perches, habitats and other items for their enrichment and socialization.

Support the horses, ponies, and donkeys $10/month

Please support the hardest working animals on the farm! When it comes to “earning their keep”, no animals work harder than the horses and ponies that live here. The horses are the stars of our Saturday trail rides every week, and the ponies liven up birthday parties across the metroplex. They all have their own personalities so please come out and get to know them by asking our docents to introduce you! We are always happy to guide you in giving them a snack or learning more about equine science.

Donate to support the livestock $5/month

Thanks for donating to support the cattle, goats, llamas, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, and turkeys. For $5 per month you can help feed the critters that greet you (so enthusiastically) in the petting zoo and when you tour the back 40 to visit Sadie the longhorn, Dexter the miniature Dexter, and the eager-to-eat-out-of-your-cup llamas. Your donations help offset the cost of feed and vet care for these critters that give the farm its rural character and help as a life-sized visual aid as you teach your kids about farming, America’s rural history, and where their food comes from.
